November Favourites: Places to Eat

Image
So as I didn't really have any new products throughout November, I have decided to still do a favourites post, but something a little different. I realised when looking through my camera roll that I'd been to some super lovely places throughout the last couple of months - especially through November. I thought I'd do a run down for anyone who is local to Leicester of where to try throughout the festive season.  I recently visted Gates Garden Centre and whilst the Garden Centre itself didn't excite me too much (this was before the Christmas areas launched though.. I'm sure it would be a different story now!), they have the most incredible farm shop with a huge selection of food- fresh food, meat, puddings, snacks and even a great selection of local gins, beers and drinks. We took away some pies for dinner and some puddings, Nick also picked up a couple of local beers too and they were all delicious. Some come frozen too so it's perfect for picking up th

Black Friday Haul

Image
Black Friday already feels like forever ago but I’ve been waiting to some parcels to arrive (at what point 5 days before Christmas do I panic that some aren’t here?) so I thought I’d do a little run down of a Black Friday hail as this year I definitely went overboard and I’ve really enjoyed seeing what everyone bagged in the sales!  From Very.co.uk I managed to get FIFA20 (RIP relationship)  for £36 which I was buzzing about - refused to pay £50+ for a game that would mean my husband ignores me for months on end!  I also got a few little bits and pieces and Christmas presents including an Alexa (£22!) which Nick also brought me so now we have 2 but ah well.. I also didn’t know that Very.co.uk did the Disney Creations - we have a little gift shop near us which sells them for £80+ but I got Mrs Potts and Chip for just £30 for one of my best friends.  I saw that Soph did a video about the Mylee range of Gel Nail equipment and colours and mentioned that they had an offer on so I jumped at

Our Wedding: Pinterest Vs Reality

Image
I can't believe I'm actually writing a WEDDING BLOG POST. WHA? Yep. It's all over. I'm now married. A Mrs. To stop myself getting down and depressed that it's all over, I keep looking back over photos and reliving it. It wasn't until I went on Pinterest and the first thing that came up was a wedding dress, I realised that it was time to say goodbye to my most pinned board EVER. But as I was scrolling thought it, it made me realise how much I had tried to follow the photos I saw to make my dream wedding. It's certainly interesting looking back at what I pinned and what I liked the look of compared to how it actually turned out... Let's compare! THE DRESS. I'll start with the biggest part of the wedding I guess. My dress. It was everything I didn't want. I didn't want anything big or puffy as you can see from the photos I'd already saved. But when it came to trying them on, I realised I definitely did NOT have the figure to wear a dr

Autumn Fashion Wish List

Image
It’s that time of year where you realise despite having spent a fair amount of £££ last year on new winter clothes - you have nothing to wear in the cold. Am I the only one? Surely not!  I remember specifically last year buying 2 new coats and a pair of boots which I still live in but other than that, I don’t think I recall falling in love with something so much I’ve kept it to hand for this Autumn/Winter - I do have a bit of a habit of just charity shop-ing anything when the season finishes due to not having a massive amount of wardrobe space. But that just means I have an excuse to go shopping... right?! ;)  This year I’ve already been on the hunt for a few new Winter Wardrobe Staples and I’ve definitely got a few pieces I have my eye on. Anyone who knows me knows I live in black - even in the Summer I’m rarely not wearing black. I think it partly has to Do with wearing black for work and I don’t often buy stuff I can’t wear for work as that’s where I spend my time most - but this Wi

Costa Teguise - Lanzarote - Best Bits

Image
I can't believe I'm actually making a post about our honeymoon - this is crazy! It's all over - but I will be reliving the wedding and everything surrounding it over a series of blog posts ;) But in the mean time, Nick suggested I did a little post about the highlights of our mini-moon in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote especially as I've enjoyed being in a little facebook group just for those who are visiting or living in (GOALS) the area. So I hope someone who is visiting soon finds these little best bits useful for future trips! I love Lanzarote and I've been 10+ times now, staying at the same hotel all but 2 times, anyone who knows me knows it's my go-to and since meeting Nick, he's fell in love with the Island too. And there's plenty of reason why... OUR FAVOURITE COCKTAIL: A cocktail called "The Lighthouse" at a bar called... you guessed it, "The Lighthouse" is our all time favourite cocktail, year in year out. It's su

East Street Lanes

Image
A few weeks ago we were kindly invited to the launch of Leicester's newest hot spot - East Street Lanes! A cool, funky-feel bowling alley with the hottest cocktail menu and delicious stone-baked pizzas!  I knew it was going to a be good night as East Street Lanes were introduced to Leicester by the same team who opened Caddyshackers last year - and it wasn't a disappointment! We arrived and were given 3 tokens each for a free drink at the bar and there was plenty to use from; ales, lagers and ciders (draught and bottle), wine, cocktails and numerous spirits.. there really was something for everyone.  As to be expected, like any launch event it was super busy and we had a bit of wait for our lane when we arrived and checked in - but that was fine, there was a number of retro and modern arcade machines to keep me and Nick busy (anyone who knows us knows we love a good arcade!) so we spent an hour or so relaxing, chatting to fellow bloggers and competing for the

Revolution Pizza and Bottomless Prosecco

Image
I've been out and about a lot lately and I've been LOVING IT! It's given me such a boost to get back into the blog a lot more frequently and I was lucky enough a couple of weeks ago to be invited to Revolution in Leicester for Pizza and Bottomless Prosecco! This is a new deal that they're offering for just £25 per person.. yes, that's right... a pizza EACH, and they're amaaaazing, along with bottomless Prosecco or selected cocktails, for just £25 per person for 2 hours. The food and cocktail menus are some of my favourite out there anyway so I was super excited for this and to take one of my main gals along with me! We started with a cocktail when we arrived and as we ordered our Pizza and then moved onto a few glasses of bubbly as we ate and chatted. The team couldn't do enough and were ready to refill our glasses whenever we needed. I had the Meat Feast Pizza which was insane and we also had the BBQ Chicken Pizza too. Neither of us could finish our Piz

EVENT: Treetop Adventure Golf Leicester

Image
Anyone who knows me personally will know that one of Nick & I's favourite thing to do (wherever we are in the world!) is crazy golf so I was beyond buzzing to see that there's a new family-friendly crazy golf venue opening in the centre of Leicester and we were lucky enough to be invited to the launch night of Treetop Adventure Golf which is just by the Highcross in town. Last week we joined Leicester in welcoming the newest adventure and had a fantastic night playing golf, drinking cocktails, eating Pizza and chatting with other lovely bloggers! It's safe to say this will be somewhere where we can go back over and over again and never get bored of it. There are not one, but TWO, 18 hole courses at Treetop Adventure Golf to explore; Tropical Trail and Ancient Explorer. Tropical Trail makes you feel like you're in the rainforest with the greenery and animals around the course and with the old Egyptian modelling around Ancient Explorer, you could ea
