East Street Lanes

A few weeks ago we were kindly invited to the launch of Leicester's newest hot spot - East Street Lanes! A cool, funky-feel bowling alley with the hottest cocktail menu and delicious stone-baked pizzas!

I knew it was going to a be good night as East Street Lanes were introduced to Leicester by the same team who opened Caddyshackers last year - and it wasn't a disappointment! We arrived and were given 3 tokens each for a free drink at the bar and there was plenty to use from; ales, lagers and ciders (draught and bottle), wine, cocktails and numerous spirits.. there really was something for everyone.

As to be expected, like any launch event it was super busy and we had a bit of wait for our lane when we arrived and checked in - but that was fine, there was a number of retro and modern arcade machines to keep me and Nick busy (anyone who knows us knows we love a good arcade!) so we spent an hour or so relaxing, chatting to fellow bloggers and competing for the highest score on Space Invaders..

There was also the chance to try the new pizza menu - Pizzas start from just £7.50 and there is a great selection including for Vegan and Gluten free fans. My favourite was the East Street Special and Nick loved the Big Pepporoni. I always admire the team who work on launch nights as getting 1 board of pizza around a room of hundreds of people is always a task when you've got people jumping on you at the first sight of a slice.

The food menu also contains burgers, salads and amazing sharing platters too for those who are competitive enough to bring a group of pals.

The lanes themselves are so cool - a real relaxed and homely vibe with sofas and tables for each lane for somewhere to really chill out with friends and family while waiting to take your go. It's also table service too and you can order Pizza and drink to come to your table at a specific time. We were one of the last  to bowl but the team were fab and still insisted on bringing over snacks and drinks for us. It's safe to say that next time I'll definitely be asking to put the bumpers up - age 27 or not!

Now, I've not been bowling properly in years so I couldn't tell you the price of a Hollywood Bowl or AMF game but I did recoil slightly at the prices however if you think that you're in a much nicer environrment, more personal and less rushed and regimented, it's worth it. There are also game and drink deals, or game and platter deals for groups too so you can still make a night of it without breaking the bank.

Between 5pm on Sunday and 5pm on Friday, you can have 2 games for £11.95 each (definitely a good time to go when each game normally is £8.95 each) and food/drink packages start from just £14.95.

Full Price list can be found HERE

It was a great night and it's always good to see fellow bloggers and Gabby from Cool As Leicester!

Here's to the next event.
